Singapore, Friday 3rd of March – In a pitch that gathered 17 start-ups competing for a spot in Vikingcubator, the nordic program funded by global media group NHST, the bet landed upon a start-up developing a tool for intelligent analysis of media content: EMMFER.

“The pitch saw a gathering of extremely interesting projects that showcased the buzzing entrepreneurial spirit of Singapore. It was difficult to choose, but we felt EMMFER’s proposal really stood out” said Mr William Klippgen, co-founder of Cocoon Capital and one of the 8 members of the Jury.

EMMFER develops artificial intelligence solutions to create a new paradigm in advertising research with the possibility to analyse video contents and predict viral potential. “Today, brands HAVE to go digital, they need to target their content and create impactful stories with viral potential, to reach their audience. They need to build an emotional bond. EMMFER has spotted that need and is proposing an efficient solution to approach a problem that will become central to any communication campaign. This is why we chose this project”, said Mr Leonard Opitz Stornes, Managing Director of NHST Media Group Asia.

Video has become a key content marketing channel with announcing that in 2017, online video will account for 74% of all online traffic. Also, 51% of marketing professionals worldwide is naming video as the type of content with the best ROI. “EMMFER has the ability to measure the viewer’s emotional reaction while watching video ads. This gives us the opportunity to produce objective engagement results through high end technology, providing invaluable information to marketers trying to evaluate the impact of their campaigns” said Mr Benjamin Tang, Founder and CEO of EMMFER.

Mr Stornes was pleased with the turnout of the pitch and is looking to grow opportunities for start-ups with Vikingcubator: “This pitch has been inspiring. We could see the full potential of media start-ups in Singapore. This is just the beginning and we hope to be able to open more opportunities through  Vikingcubator pitches in the future. Remember! #pitchitlikeaVIKING!”
